The direct-burial wire is a kind of communication or transmission cable which is specially designed to be buried under the ground without any other cover, sheath, or duct to protect it. Direct burial wire's best feature is that it can be buried directly in the ground and does not need to be sleeved in a pipe.

Cables with protection class AD8 can withstand water immersion for an indefinite period. If the cables in the solar power installation will not be immersed in water for long periods, AD7 cables should be selected.
